Trump Urges Israeli Voters to Elect Netanyahu to Complete Joint Operations
The U.S. president’s second endorsement in days includes a warning that America may act unilaterally against Iran if a rival prime minister takes office.

U.S. President Donald Trump issued a second endorsement of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday evening, days before the Israeli general election. In a post on Truth Social, Trump instructed voters to choose Netanyahu to conclude military and diplomatic efforts begun under their shared leadership.
Trump described Netanyahu as an outstanding warrior prime minister and emphasized the productive working relationship between the two leaders. He cited Operation Midnight Hammer and Operation Epic Fury as primary examples of their collaborative success. The post concluded with a direct instruction to vote for Netanyahu so the two nations could finish the work they started.
The message included a specific warning regarding the outcome of the election. Trump stated that if Israel selects any leader other than Netanyahu, the United States would be forced to handle the confrontation with Iran independently. He added that he was not inclined to take on that burden alone.
This endorsement followed reports published earlier on Sunday that Netanyahu had intensified his campaign to secure additional support from the White House. Two American sources told The Jerusalem Post that Netanyahu and his allies within Trump’s inner circle were applying pressure for new public statements of support. One source described the prime minister’s behavior as showing signs of political desperation, noting that they had never seen him act in such a manner before.
Separate reporting from Axios provided further details on the coordination between the leaders. According to that account, Trump and Netanyahu spoke twice over the previous three days. During these conversations, Netanyahu reportedly suggested specific wording for Trump’s endorsements. An Israeli source briefed on the efforts said the prime minister also proposed that Trump speak directly with Israeli journalists to reiterate his support.
The endorsement arrives as Israeli voters prepare to cast ballots. The sequence of events places the U.S. president’s public backing in direct response to the prime minister’s recent diplomatic outreach. The next scheduled step is the election itself, which will determine the future of the coalition government currently in power.
Trump’s statement serves as both a campaign endorsement and a diplomatic signal to regional adversaries. By linking the election result to American military posture regarding Iran, the president has injected a new variable into the final days of the Israeli campaign. The post was published on Sunday evening, leaving little time for opposing candidates to respond before polling places open.
